After being jailed for murder, a successful actor takes refuge in his imagination, where a dream theatre replaces his cell. But when reality and fiction begin to blur, he is forced to face the truth he is trying to escape.
John Davis, a successful actor imprisoned for murder, shares a cell with Alvaro, an older inmate. Unable to accept his reality, John takes refuge in his imagination: the prison disappears and in its place an empty theatre takes shape, where he can go back to being the man he was before the sentence.
In this suspended space he meets Elizabeth, a young woman who seems to belong to his past and who gradually pushes him to confront what he is trying to erase. As life in prison grows more violent, the boundary between cell and stage begins to dissolve and John gradually loses the ability to tell what he is living from what his mind is building.
The theatre, at first a refuge from reality, becomes his deepest prison: the place where memory, guilt and desire converge until they force him to face the truth.

L'incredibile irrazionalità dei sogni was born as the proof of concept for the feature film The Irrationality of Dreams.
The short introduces the narrative universe, the protagonist and the central device of the project: the contrast between the reality of the prison and the theatre built by John's mind.
The feature expands this universe, turning the original core of the short into a wider story about guilt, imprisonment and the mind's ability to alter the perception of reality.
