The Oblique is an independent creative studio between Italy and New York, working across film, art and advertising.
We develop original ideas into worlds, choosing for each project the language, the people and the tools best suited to bring them to life.
Every project begins with an idea.
The Oblique develops original concepts into experiences that can take different forms: from film to art, all the way to advertising.
We don't start from the medium. We start from the world we want to create and look for the most powerful language to make it real.
We develop original stories through an auteur-driven approach, from short film to feature film.
Cinema built around characters, worlds and images that keep living beyond the screening.
Explore FilmArt is the territory where we explore perception, presence and our relationship with the real.
Moving image, installation, performance and emerging forms become tools to turn an idea into an experience.
Explore ArtWe create cinematic worlds for brands, where product, story, atmosphere and emotion become part of the same experience.
We start from the emotional territory of the product to turn it into something that can be lived, remembered and shared.
Explore AdvertisingA concept can become a film, an artwork, an installation or an experience for a brand. It can live through a single medium or evolve into different expressions of the same world.
That is why we develop original intellectual property and guide ideas from their origin to the form that can best express them.
The world determines the medium, not the other way around.
The Oblique builds bespoke teams around each project, bringing together directors, cinematographers, producers, artists, designers, technologists and specialised collaborators.
The structure stays agile.
The team changes. The vision stays.
Live action, artificial intelligence, VFX, virtual environments and emerging technologies can coexist within the same project when they help express its idea.
We are not interested in using a technology because it is new. We are interested in what it allows us to create.
The tools change. The vision remains human.
